Theta Tau at UMD works to support the University of Maryland and its surrounding communities through outreach programs and volunteerism. The A. James Clark School of Engineering has recognized Theta Tau as one of the most influential and diverse STEM-related organizations on campus with 80+ current active members and more than 230 alumni around the world. Theta Tau is partnering with local middle and high school students to establish a robotics mentorship program and promote STEM education in the area, with an aim to remedy apprehensiveness to STEM, especially among young girls and people of color.
